Mizuno was founded in 1906 in Japan by Rihachi Mizuno as a mainly baseball goods manufacturer. Mizuno has grown greatly since then to become on of the world's largest general sporting goods manufacturers, and produces sports equipment of unsurpassed quality in footwear and apparel for running, track and field, soccer, rugby, volleyball, handball and golf. Today the company is in the able hands of Mizuno President Masato Mizuno, Rihachi's Grandson.

Footwear
		Mizuno Wave Wave technology cushioning and stability. The only technology that combines two distinctly different elements that are both inherently necessary in great running shoes. Wave technology is the only technology that combines the two essential properties needed in functional running footwear, cushioning and stability. Excessive force and stress is placed upon the body during the act of running, it is therefore imperative to have the correct blend of cushioning and stability to minimise the risk of injury. The wave plate provides excellent cushioning by dispersing the force of impact across a larger surface area. The stability aspect of wave technology is gained by the construction differing between the outside (lateral) and the inside (medial) of the shoe, therefore resisting the compression of the midsole in high pressure areas. The basic elements of cushioning and stability in a wave plate can be adjusted to cater for any type of runner. Thus resulting in the lightest technologically advanced Serious Performance sports shoes.
		Parallel Wave The Parallel Wave plate provides the runner with neutral cushioning by dispersing impact forces uniformly through the Wave plate as opposed to purely absorbing the impact shock at the point of impact
		Parrallel Wave (Lightweight) Lightweight configuration specifically designed for racing shoes, but retaining all wave properties Waves are parallel between lateral and medial sides Wave length is short and tight, for quicker movement
		Fanshaped Wave The Fan Shaped Wave disperses the impact forces through the Wave plate in a similar manner to the Parallel Wave. However, to prevent the foot over-pronating the Wave shape fans out and heightens toward the medial side [inside] to decelerate the rate of pronation and therefore helping to keep the midfoot in a neutral stance.
		Double Fanshaped Wave The Double Fan Shaped Wave works in a similar way to the Fan Shaped Wave in that it will absorb impact forces and decelerate the rate of pronation. In order to meet the needs of a more severe over pronator. An additional Wave plate has been added to the medial side [inside] in order to combat the greater pressure exerted.
		Composite Wave The standard Wave configurations can be adjusted and manipulated in numerous ways such as height, density and most importantly by the materials used. Research and testing identify high stress areas and the need for increased support or stress reduction. The addition of different materials with specific properties in key areas, improve the performance of all the Wave plate configurations.
		Skeleton Wave Neutral Wave construction featured in the Wave Creation. Two parallel Wave plates sit on top of each other with soft cushioning pillars between the plates to provide unrivalled cushioning by universally absorbing and dispersing the impact of foot strike.
		AP+ New midsole compound with increased cushioning & comfort and improved durability.
		x10 Durability and traction. X10 provides the most durable carbon rubber from Mizuno that allows for longer wear in high impact areas and provides more traction at heel strike.
		Intercool Cool and dry. Mizuno Intercool solves the problem of heat and humidity build up in a running shoe by incorporating a full length ventilation system in the sole of the shoe that removes heat and humidity that surrounds the foot, through a series of ventilation holes.
		Biolock Fit and performance. Biolock is a simple yet revolutionary heel fit system that allows for the best heel fit in the industry and enhances performance by reducing wasted motion through the elimination of heel slippage.
		VS-1 Shock absorption and cushioning. VS-1 absorbs shock and enhances cushioning properties by resisting compression-set, thus extending the cushioning life of running shoes.
		AirMesh Breathable and Cool. AirMesh allows each running shoe from Mizuno to maintain a high standard of breathability for the life of the shoe and allows for the foot to stay cool.
		AP Midsole AP Midsole (Acceleration Polymer Responsive Midsole) Lightweight high rebound midsole material to give greater momentum at take-off.
		Sensor Point SensorPoint studs extend from the wave plate through the midsole making contact with the ground. Each foot strike reacts independently to surface intensity and foot flexibility allowing for greater cushioning, stability and durability.
		Smooth Ride Direct from Mizuno's innovative Sozo Studio comes SmoothRide Engineering, the next generation in performancefootwear design SmoothRide Engineering is designed to minimize the rapid acceleration and deceleration of the foot through the phases of the running gait cycle by reducing shock vibration and increasing flexibility. 		DF Cut DFC (Dynamic Function Cut) is a patented system by Mizuno. It is the result of research work looking at the human body (Anthropometrics). This research has allowed Mizuno to produce patterns (Garment Blueprints) which compensate for the movement of the body during sport activities. The result is that garments will allow the body greater freedom of movement whilst still providing support & protection. Also garments designed with the DFC system will have a custom fit suited to a particular sport. The DFC system can also benefit garments designed for Cross Training; multi sport activity.
