Asics

A new era of sportswear manufacturing began in 1949, when Mr. Onitsuka started Onitsuka Co. Ltd. Looking stunned at post World War II Japan with its huge numbers of homeless children he asked himself: "What can I do to give them a better future?" His love for sports led him to the right answer: That sports would be the best starting point to achieve this goal. Anima Sana In Corpore Sano = a sound mind in a sound body.

ASICS was born.

By offering a wide range of sports footwear, apparel and equipment, the company continued to grow. Up to now, ASICS is the fifth largest brand in the sports shoe market worldwide, and a whole lot of subsidiaries cover the four corners of the world.

Asics Technology & Features

Footwear

  I.G.S.
The ASICS Impact Guidance System or I.G.S. is a technical shoe design philosophy that allows the athlete's foot to perform in a more natural manner. ASICS high-tec I.G.S. shoes are constructed in a way that enhances natural gait.

  GEL
The ASICS GEL system is based on a special kind of silicone that enables optimal shock absorption. Gel units are strategically placed in the midsole and designed to enable specific functions and positions.

  DuoMax
A proprietary ASICS system that consists of two different density midsoles and designed to provide smooth over-pronation control.

  Trusstic
A moulded component under the midfoot area. Provides stability and, in combination with the contoured midsole, helps to control torsion.

  SpEVA
A supreme midsole material that improves bounce-back characteristics and decreases midsole breakdown.

  DuoSole
Outsole construction that offers lightweight flexibility and traction.

  DuoTruss
For improved arch support and torsional stability, this dual-density system is softer on the lateral side and firmer on the medial side.

  Biomorphic
The Biomorphic technology is incorporated into the upper where the areas of highest deformation are found. This ensures a better fit, improved comfort, less risk of injury and enhanced performance.

  Space Trusstic
An advanced system that creates a pocket between the Trusstic system and the midsole, allowing for greater midsole deformation and more efficient foot function.

  DuraSponge
A blown AHAR rubber outsole material with high abrasion-resistant qualities for added durability, combined with a comfortable, cushioned ride.

  AHAR
ASICS High Abrasion Resistance rubber is a tough rubber compound used at the heavy contact areas of the outsole. Helps to reduce excessive wear.

  SpEVA lasted
The supreme ASICS midsole material used as lasting technology enhances comfort by improved cushioning and/or stability through the use of different densities. 45 density for high cushion and flexibility, 55 density for increased stiffness to boost the spring rate, and 65 density for increased stiffness thus limiting midsole deformation.

  Stability cradle
A moulded midsole component engineered for specific foot types to enhance guidance and fit.

  Personal Heel Fit
A special foam heel construction that guarantees a perfect fit around the wearer's heel.

  EVA-tongue
A lightweight moisture-managing tongue construction that allows the foot to breath and increases comfort.

  ComforDry sockliner
This insole provides the optimum cushioning performance system that creates a cooler, drier, healthier shoe environment.

  Solyte
An all-new midsole material developed as a result of a direct challenge to Asics scientists to find a lighter, more durable, better cushioning midsole material. Solyte is not EVA, but rather an advanced copolymer with unique weight saving properties due to its low density. In fact, Solyte is about 30% lighter than the lightest asics EVA and 50% lighter than standard density EVA midsole material.

  Spacemaster-UV
Newly developed, Japanese mesh called Spacemaster-UV1 . Conceived by observing the unique properties of marine coral, Spacemaster-UV is very breathable, remarkably strong, and is about 30% lighter than regular polyester mesh. The materials used in Spacemaster-UV provide much better UV shielding by not only absorbing but also reflecting the sun’s heat rays.

  DuoTech
Synonymous with exclusive fibres and materials that perform two functions at once. For instance, ASICS textiles are not just lightweight; they are also breathable. They do not just keep you dry, but cool, too.

  Biomorphic (apparel)
Special patterns that follow the shape of the human body for ease of movement and top performance.

  Inner Muscle
The result of extensive research by ASICS Institute of Sports Science, this unique technology allows the inner muscles of the body to be worked at optimum capacity. The construction helps train specific muscle groups not significantly worked during normal exercise, therby allowing athletic movement and posture to be improved.

  Guidance Line
Guidance Line places a visible groove in the mid and outsole that follows the foot's center of pressure from heel to toe. The result is a more adaptive running platform, creating a smoother transition from heel strike to toe-off with each stride. The Guidance Line thus helps runners to maintain a natural, efficient gait, especially over long distances.

  AHAR+
A thinner and lighter version of ASICS high abrasion resistant rubber. Placed on heavy contact areas of the outsole to reduce wear.

  Guidance Trusstic
This Trusstic system integrates Guidance Line construction for enhanced gait efficiency while providing midfoot structural integrity.
